For Esther, Henri Vieuxtemps’ Souvenir d’Amerique, Op.17 “Yankee Doodle” elicits early childhood memories of singing the ‘Yankee Doodle’ tune on car rides with her Father when they lived in the U.S.

On her new Deutsche Grammophon release, she is joined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director Vasily Petrenko for this work along with Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26, and Adagio Appassionato, Op. 57 for Violin and Orchestra; and Barber’s Violin Concerto.
