On September 3, Esther Yoo began her 2023/24 season at Amsterdam’s prestigious Concertgebouw alongside Philharmonie Zuidnederland and conductor Duncan Ward. Esther performed Glazunov’s violin concerto, one of the composer’s most beloved pieces.
Performed seamlessly without breaks between movements, the concerto is beautiful and lyrical, and allows the violinist to pull every technical prowess out of their sleeve.
Following the concerto, Yoo gave an encore of Vieuxtemp’s Souvenir d’ Amérique, nicknamed “Yankee Doodle.”
Esther will return to the Concertgebouw with the Z.E.N. Trio for two performances on May 13 and 15.
