The Royal College of Music (RCM) in London has announced the appointment of Esther Yoo as Professor of Violin, making her one of the youngest professors ever to join the faculty.
Gary Ryan, head of strings at RCM, welcomed the new faculty members, expressing that Esther’s extensive work as a soloist and recording artist “will further enhance and complement the exceptional quality of the violin faculty.”
Esther shared “As an alumna of this prestigious institution, it is especially meaningful to return to the RCM in this new capacity. It is a privilege to be a part of shaping the next generation of musicians, while continuing my robust international performance and touring schedule which I am equally looking forward to.”
This season, Esther’s performance highlights include appearances with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She will make her recital debut at Seoul Arts Center with pianist Jaehong Park and will also release a new album on Deutsche Grammophon.
