Esther Yoo joins pianist Chad Lawson on a new recording, breathe, released on September 23 on Decca Records US. Featuring solo piano compositions, chamber music and orchestrated arrangements, breathe is a heart-felt invitation to pause and enjoy a cathartic moment of release. Co-produced by Lawson and London-based orchestrator Geoff Lawson, the album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Esther is featured on two tracks: “fields of forever” and “for such a gaze of wonder.”
“‘fields of forever’ is an invitation to enjoy the process, instead of focusing on the destination. It’s the stops along the journey that add up, nudging us to appreciate the little things that make life worth living,” says Lawson.
As for “for such a gaze of wonder,” Lawson was inspired by how looking up at the stars can remind us of the infinite possibilities that exist, and help us to appreciate the beauty of our own world.
